Project summary
To improve access to excellent sports facilities for all, a new modern changing facility is being built on Kingsway Park alongside football pitches, an extended car park and a new bowls pavilion.

September 2025 – Work started on car park extension

In detail
The old changing rooms on the park have been demolished to make way for a new modern changing facility for football, hockey, tennis and other sports. The bowls container has now been removed, and construction is well underway on the new energy efficient bowls pavilion, on the opposite side of the bowling green. As part of this project, which will give greater access to sports for everyone in the community, new grass football pitches will be developed on the fields that have no formal markings.
To accommodate the extra visitors, the car park is being extended onto the unused grass behind the existing car park.
Work is on track to open later this year.
