Project summary
A network of walking and cycling routes will be created through Ashfield by upgrading existing routes and creating new ones.
In detail
This project will help provide improved connections to public transport as well as key employment areas in the District, and provide safe travel routes for leisure and work.
The off-road routes provide opportunities for children and adults at all levels of ability to gain confidence and enjoy using traffic-free routes. These routes will help to reduce the number of car journeys leading to improved air quality.
The routes navigate through town centres and residential areas and link to Sherwood and Castlewood Business Parks. They also link to attractions including Mill Waters at Kings Mill Reservoir, the Science Discovery Centre, Planetarium and Observatory, and Hardwick Hall.
