Eastwood is a village close to Ashfield that is famous for being the birthplace of Nottinghamshire author D.H Lawrence. A museum dedicated to his life is found at 8a Victoria Street, which was the writer’s first home, and has today been transformed into a museum and gift shop. The D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum has a permanent exhibition of his life with items from his family and paintings he created.
