Sherwood Observatory is home to the Mansfield & Sutton Astronomical Society and is situated overlooking the town of Mansfield. The Observatory was built by the founders on a voluntary basis and opened to the public in 1986 and houses a 24 inch hand-built Newtonian Reflecting Telescope.
