If your sports club or group are looking for help and guidance, the information below direct you to a number of helpful sources.

Active Notts

The Funding team at Active Notts and can be contacted on funding@activepartnerstrust.org.uk.  Please visit the funding pages for the latest funds and guidance on who is eligible to apply.  There is also a regular funding e-news, which you can sign up for.

Club Matters is a one-stop-shop for sports clubs and groups. It provides support and guidance on all aspects of running a club whether it is large, small, formal or informal. It offers free, simple support including several interactive tool to help you understand where your club or group could improve.

Everything can be accessed for free with some elements such as the workshops requiring you to register on the site, to do so click here.

The different sections of the Club Matters website include:

  • Club Finances - budgeting, generating income and managing costs
  • Club Management - club structures, governance and planning
  • Club Marketing - planning your marketing and different options available
  • Club People - managing volunteers, coaches and members
  • Club Workshops - 2 hour workshops on topics from marketing to club structures
  • E-Learning - 14 different topics from budgeting to Twitter guidance

Active Notts also offer and promote a range of coaching courses and workshops and run an annual celebration event.

Ashfield Voluntary Action

Ashfield Voluntary Action can help you to set up a new group or club, help you to grow your club, help with governance, and help you to develop a plan or strategy to take your club forward.  Through AVA you can also advertise volunteer vacancies and get advice on insurance.

Ashfield District Council

Ashfield District Council run a number of events each year.  If you would like to get involved, perhaps promote your club or offer some activities please get in touch by e-mail to events@ashfield.gov.uk.

Notts Help Yourself

Notts Help Yourself is an online directory that you can use to promote your club or group free of charge.  The directory is regularly updated to ensure information is current and is promoted widely across Nottinghamshire.

Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU)

It is vitally important that we ensure children in our care are safeguarded. The CPSU has resources, briefings and guides to help. This includes what to do if you have a concern, self-assessment tools, and policies and procedures you can adapt.

UK Coaching

UK Coaching helps new and experienced coaches, mentors, instructors, and activators - anyone within a community that's encouraging others to become active.  They offer workshops, training, guidance, insurance and networking opportunities.
