Makerspace at High Pavement House
Renovation works are progressing well to transform the former DWP building, Sutton, into High Pavement House, which will be home to a business hub and the new Makerspace. The ground floor will house the Makerspace to encourage people with an interest in making, creating, inventing, modifying, and improving, to have a meeting place and access to equipment and training that they do not have at home.
We are putting together a network of businesses and skilled people that have the time and inclination to help get the Makerspace off the ground. The skills required are textiles, wood working, metal working, Cad/Cam, computing, and 3D printing.
If you are a business owner and have any redundant machinery that could be refurbished or repurposed and are willing to donate, or individuals with skills that could help, we would appreciate assistance developing this project. We would also love to hear from businesses interested in ongoing sponsorship. For example, could you donate a fresh set of drill bits each month?
The Makerspace is set to open in spring 2023.
